Couple escapes injury as car crashes into Townsville home

A sedan crashed into a Townsville home in the suburb of Adalia around 9:30pm on a Sunday night, smashing through the living area and kitchen. A couple in their 60s who were inside at the time narrowly escaped without injuries. Police allege the driver, a man in his early 20s, was under the influence of drugs and he remains in Townsville University Hospital with charges expected to be laid.
