Pb: O sol brilhava intensamente sobre a Praia de Ipanema, apesar de ser inverno no Rio de Janeiro.
En: The sun shone intensely over Praia de Ipanema, despite it being winter in Rio de Janeiro.

Pb: O clima estava agradável, e uma brisa leve soprava do mar, ideal para o festival de pipas que acontecia na areia.
En: The weather was pleasant, and a light breeze blew from the sea, ideal for the kite festival taking place on the sand.

Pb: Rui estava animado.
En: Rui was excited.

Pb: Ele amava empinar pipas.
En: He loved flying kites.

Pb: Mais do que isso, ele queria impressionar Marina, sua amiga que adorava passar o dia na praia.
