‘Tipsy’ Pregnant Housewife Locked Up for First Date Death
Description
A wealthy Texas woman, Kristina Chambers, was convicted of manslaughter after driving drunk in her Porsche and killing 33-year-old Nicholas McMullin, who was walking with his date after a late-night snack. Prosecutors said her blood alcohol level was nearly four times the legal limit, but Chambers claimed her designer shoes got stuck on the gas pedal, causing the crash. A jury rejected that defense, sentencing her to 11 years and 14 days in prison—a symbolic nod to the victim’s birthday—as Chambers revealed she is four months pregnant with her ex-husband’s child. Law&Crime’s Chris Stewart is On the Case.
