A former Kansas morning news anchor, Angie Mock — once a trusted face on local TV — is now accused of stabbing her 81-year-old mother, Anita Avers, to death on Halloween. Police say Mock was found covered in blood and told dispatchers she allegedly acted in self-defense, claiming she had to stab her mom “to save herself.” Mock, 47, is charged with first-degree murder and is being held on a $1 million bond as investigators work to uncover what led to the shocking mother-daughter tragedy.
