Back to EpisodesSUNDAY - JULY 26, 2026 "Talk Is Cheap" Acts 24:1-21
Description
Words can win applause, start fights, or hide the truth, but they cannot replace a life that holds up under pressure. We walk through Acts 24 where Paul is hauled into a courtroom before Governor Felix and faces a carefully crafted attack from religious leaders and their spokesman, Tertullus. The charges are serious: stirring riots, leading a dangerous sect, and violating the temple. The tactics are telling too, starting with flattery designed to sway power when proof is thin.
We trace each accusation and then listen to Paul’s calm, grounded defense. He points to simple facts that can be checked, including how little time he has actually spent in Jerusalem. But Paul does not treat this like a mere PR crisis. He shifts the focus to what he calls “the Way,” explaining how faith in Jesus is rooted in the God of Scripture, aligned with the Law and the Prophets, and anchored in a clear conscience before God and people.
Then everything narrows to the central claim: the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We talk about why the resurrection is not just a doctrine for Sunday, but the engine of Christian hope, courage, and integrity. We also explore why Paul presents resurrection faith as something witnessed and proclaimed publicly, and why that matters when doubts, despair, or pressure start to pile up.
If you are exploring Christianity, this message lays out what it means to trust Jesus for real life. If you already believe, it challenges you to live like Jesus is alive. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs hope, and leave a review with the one point that hit you hardest.
