Western Sydney's new national park opens at Wallacia
Published 2 weeks, 3 days ago
Description
Gulguer National Park at Wallacia, south of Penrith, has been established as Western Sydney's newest national park. The 1,000-hectare park combines Bents Basin Conservation Area with newly acquired land, creating a protected habitat for 27 threatened species including the southern greater glider and powerful owl. The park, three times the size of Centennial Park, provides space for walking, mountain biking and bush exploration while preventing housing development on the site.
