Description
Australian swimmers dominated day two of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, claiming five gold medals and 20 medals overall in two days. Sam Williamson delivered an inspirational victory in the 100-metres breaststroke just 12 months after rupturing his patellar tendon in a gym accident, defeating three-time Olympic champion Adam Ramsay-Peaty. Sam Short won the 400-metres freestyle and came within a second of breaking Ian Thorpe's 2002 Commonwealth record, while Mollie O'Callaghan claimed gold in the 200-metres freestyle and Alex Perkins won the 50-metres butterfly.
