She was Murdered by her Last Fare | Eileen Costello O'Shaugnessy
Description
In 1997, Eileen Costello O'Shaughnessy — one of Ireland’s few female taxi drivers — set out on an ordinary shift. She picked up a fare just like any other… but this passenger would be her killer.
Her journey ended far from Galway, in a desolate, remote location. Eileen was brutally murdered and discarded like she never mattered — her life stolen, her body abandoned.
In a disturbing twist, witnesses reported seeing her taxi speeding erratically back toward the city — driven by someone else. The killer behind the wheel. The trail left behind was chilling… but ultimately led nowhere.
In this episode of Crimes That Haunt Us, we retrace Eileen’s final moments, examine the baffling investigation, and revisit the lingering questions that still surround this horrific and unsolved crime.
Who killed Eileen — and why has justice never been served?
