Description
Crime on a Saturday
First, a look at this day in History.
Then, Satan’s Waitin’, originally broadcast July 25, 1950, 76 years ago, Paintings of Death. Satan himself tells the story about a cheating wife and her wealthy husband. He wants a divorce and offers her the house and a lot of money, if her lover will marry her within six months. Shades of The Whistler in this summer series.
Followed by The Adventures of Sam Spade, Detective starring Howard Duff, originally broadcast July 25, 1948, 78 years ago, The Mad Scientist Caper. Raymond Fox is a famous but slightly insane inventor. He hires Spade to recover the secret formula for "Pentron." Sam promptly winds up in a hospital for the mentally deranged!
Then, Broadway Is My Beat starring Larry Thor, originally broadcast July 25, 1954, 72 years ago, the Katy Lane Murder Case. Marty Lane has been pushed at a swimming pool and has a fractured skull.
Followed by Counterspy starring Don Maclaughlin and Mandel Kramer, originally broadcast July 25, 1945, 81 years ago, The Case Of The Dog Of Dynamite. The former commander of all Gestapo agents in Spain plans to enter a U.S. government laboratory working on very valuable "bugs."
Finally, Lum and Abner, originally broadcast July 25, 1935, 91 years ago, The First Families of Pine Ridge. Lum is starting to have doubts about Squire Skimp and the silver mine.
