The sky is that bright, optimistic blue with fluffy clouds, but the tension kicks in the second you see the red health bar at the top with the little skull icon staring back at you. My guy dropped in from the left side, helmet on, guns blazing, while the boss—a smug-looking mercenary type with a red beret and tactical vest—stood on the right platform like he owned the place. The whole setup screams “final showdown,” with a big armored truck loaded with stacks of green cash parked right in the middle, almost daring you to fight around it.
The fight itself was a chaotic dance across these crumbling platforms and wooden crates. I started popping shots with that satisfying red laser trail streaking across the screen, and the boss returned fire immediately, forcing me to jump and slide between cover. Those yellow bullet icons on the left came in handy as I kept the pressure on, weaving around the truck while the ocean waves sparkled in the background. What surprised me was how predictable the boss’s patterns were after the previous levels’ chaos—he’d stand there laying down suppressive fire, but I could bait him into overcommitting and then unload a full clip while he reloaded. My character was yelling “PEW” with every burst, which always cracks me up even in the heat of battle. No crazy mechanics or surprise phases here; it was straight-up run-and-gun action that rewarded good positioning and quick trigger finger.
Looking back, this boss really felt like a victory lap after the grind of those last five stages. The levels leading up to it had me dodging way more environmental hazards and tougher enemy swarms, so facing this guy almost seemed like a breather. The money truck in the middle became my favorite landmark—ducking behind it let me catch a second to breathe before popping out for another volley. By the end, it was almost too smooth, like the game was giving me a well-earned win after testing my patience earlier.
Winning that fight unlocked the next chunk of levels with a nice score boost and some extra gems in the bank. It reminded me why I keep coming back to Johnny Trigger—the simple but addictive shooting mechanics, the colorful cartoon violence, and those little dopamine hits when you finally drop a boss. This one might’ve been on the easier side, but it still felt earned after pushing through the previous gauntlet.
