As sweltering “dog days” stretch through the longest possible unofficial summer, we may wish Earth’s seasons worked differently. Yet our planet’s tilt, orbit, magnetic field, and even the way ice floats are all precisely suited to sustain life. While some attribute this remarkable balance to cosmic chance, Scripture begins with a different explanation: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Today, we consider how genuinely believing Genesis 1:1 should transform the way we trust, worship, obey, and seek our Creator.
