#50 What The July FDA Hearing Could Mean For Compounded Peptides

Published 3 days, 16 hours ago
Description

The internet loves a scary headline, and “peptides placed in category two” might be the most misunderstood one yet. We’re Dr. Kylie Burton and Jessica Briecke, and we’re slowing the noise down to explain what’s actually happening with the FDA’s July 23–24 hearing and why it directly affects patient access to compounded peptides.

It started back in 2023 when compounding pharmacies pushed back against government regulation. What happened then and what's happening now revolves around the FDA's category 1 and category 2 classifications. These classifications affect our access to them.

What exactly do these classifications mean though? And what's the difference between the DEA and the FDA?

Inside this episode, we also tackle:

  • 503A pharmacies
  • 503C pharmacies
  • The FDA hearing happening July 23 and 24th
  • What peptides are getting reclassified
  • Why this process will take longer than one weekend

Let's face the reality: when regulated access disappears, people will get pushed into the gray market with questionable sourcing and risky kitchen mixes. It's already bad enough. We don't want it to become worse.

If you care about peptide therapy, compounding pharmacy policy, and safe wellness options, hit play, share this with someone who’s seeing the misinformation, and leave a review so more people can find clear answers.
