PM's escalator mishap precedes Labor conference announcements

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese opened Labor's 50th National Conference in Adelaide after an escalator malfunction nearly caused him to fall. He announced paid practical placements for university students will expand to include 10 additional health degrees including physiotherapy, clinical psychology, pharmacy and paramedics, costing $745 million and helping 95,000 students by 2030. The PM also revealed plans for a new Fair Work Court to resolve industrial relations disputes faster.
