Australia's fastest-built houses have been completed in Melbourne's west using prefabricated Lego-like components manufactured in China. The homes, part of Metricon's pilot program, were constructed in just 20 days from slab to completion, with assembly taking only four days. The prefabrication method is being explored as a solution to address Australia's housing shortages, particularly in regional areas and growth corridors where labour shortages exist.
