A flagship loudspeaker is meant to be heard, but HYPHN is also meant to be seen, and Monitor Audio has just made that visual side far more flexible. We break down the headline: HYPHN is now available in more than 200 custom finishes, opening up new options for custom installation projects where interior design, sightlines, and client taste can be as decisive as frequency response.

We also dig into what makes HYPHN a true statement piece. Created as a 50th anniversary model and positioned above the Platinum series, it pairs a dual column cabinet with a central M-Array driver module, wrapped in an overtly sculptural form designed to suppress internal resonances and reduce cabinet-borne coloration. The cabinet is milled from a composite of acrylic, minerals, and natural pigments, a materials choice aimed at stiffness and acoustic neutrality, which matters when you are specifying no-compromise audio for high-end home cinema or two-channel listening rooms.

Then we get practical: the custom models are hand painted in a wide palette across matte, gloss, and metallic finishes, built to order in Rayleigh, Essex by a small technician team, with a three-month lead time. We also cover pricing, with HYPHN Custom Finish Editions at £80,250 per piece versus £70,000 for standard finishes, and how to place orders through your local Home Cinema Alliance member.
