Labor's 50th national conference is underway in Adelaide with cost of living as the primary focus. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced an expansion of paid placements for university students, extending the existing $338 weekly payment for teachers, midwives, nurses and social workers to 10 additional health degrees including paramedics and physiotherapists. The $750 million initiative will support 95,000 university students over four years.
