A Life of Love, Service, and Feisty Grace | Wilmington News
Description
A vibrant, spirited woman with a heart of gold, Christine Joan Toland, 84, passed away on July 18th, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and resilience. A devoted wife, proud mother, and lifelong animal advocate, she touched countless lives through her volunteer work at Dosher Hospital, her friendships at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and her warm presence at Coldwell Banker. Born in 1942 and raised in New York before moving to North Carolina with her beloved friend Colleen, Christine’s independent soul and feisty spirit shone through every chapter. She is remembered by her nephew Brian, his wife Patty, and close friends Ginger and Marybeth, who were like family. With heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Liberty Healthcare and Terra Bella, and special appreciation to Tasha, Amanda, Jean, Rob, and the Knights of Columbus, Christine’s memory lives on. A funeral mass will be held August 4th at Sacred Heart Church, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude or a local animal rescue.
