Cyclosporiasis Outbreak Linked to Lettuce | Charleston News
Description
Over 4,000 confirmed cases of cyclosporiasis linked to shredded iceberg lettuce from Taylor Farms in Mexico—FDA’s traceback data points to this as the source despite a false positive test. Taylor Farms and Taco Bell have pulled affected products; Walmart’s Marketside brand is also impacted in certain states. Recalled items: 12- and 24-oz iceberg salad, 8- and 16-oz shredded lettuce with best-by dates July 18–Aug 3. Don’t eat or return them. Other Taylor Farms lettuce and Chipotle’s greens are safe. Washing won’t kill cyclospora—cook to 158°F.
