A portable projector that thinks like a proper home cinema install is no longer a contradiction. We break down XGIMI’s latest Elfin Flip announcements and what they mean for anyone chasing big-screen performance without committing to a fixed projector mount, dedicated screen, or permanent room layout.
We start with the Elfin Flip 4K, the new flagship built around a 4K RGB triple laser light engine rated at 1600 ISO lumens. We talk through the claims that matter in real rooms: 20,000:1 dynamic contrast, 110% BT.2020 coverage, and tight colour accuracy targets, plus an optical zoom (0.98–1.3:1 throw ratio) that makes placement far less fussy. We also cover the practical “set it down and press play” side, including intelligent screen adapt for keystone, focus, screen alignment, obstacle avoidance, wall colour adjustment, and eye protection, all wrapped in a flip-to-start design.
Then we move into performance for players. The Elfin Flip 4K’s gaming pitch includes 1 ms input lag at 1080p 120 Hz, VRR, ALLM, and a black equaliser with a dedicated gaming mode. We compare that to the Elfin Flip Laser 1080p model, which keeps RGB triple laser brightness but drops optical zoom and the advanced gaming set, and we note the Elfin Flip Plus as the LED entry option for everyday streaming. Built-in Google TV and Harman Kardon audio with Dolby support keep the setup clean, with UK pricing at £869 for the 4K model and £689 for the Laser.
Finally, we touch on XGIMI’s Myra Series, an ultra short throw 4K platform aimed at design-led spaces, and the Mira Pro expected in September with eyes on IFA 2026.
