कश्चन बुद्धिमान् तरुणः सुशीलः अन्नदानस्य निराकरणं करोति । किमर्थम् इति पृष्टे 'एतादृशं दानं दातुः अहङ्कारस्य वृद्ध्यै भवेत्, न तु देशहिताय' इति वदति तरुणः । यदा सः राज्ञः समीपं नीतः तदा तरुणः वदति 'अन्नदानस्य कारणतः युवकाः अलसाः जाताः सन्ति । एतस्य प्रत्यक्षपरिणामः सैनिकेषु जायते । अतः देशे उद्योगावसराः वर्धनीयाः, न तु अन्नदानव्यवस्था' इति । तदनन्तरं यत् अग्रे भविष्यति तेन राजा बोधं प्राप्य यत् आवश्यकं तत् करोति ।

A wise young man refused to accept food charity. When asked why, he said: “Such charity only increases the donor’s pride, not the nation’s welfare.” Later, when brought before the king, he explained: “Because of free food distribution, young people have become lazy. This directly affects the soldiers. Therefore, the country needs more job opportunities, not food charity.” Hearing this, the king understood and took the necessary action.
