Af: Die lug was dik van koue winterwind terwyl die drie vriende by die voet van Tafelberg gestaan het.
En: The air was thick with cold winter wind as the three friends stood at the foot of Tafelberg.
Af: Elsabe kyk op, haar oë vasberade.
En: Elsabe looked up, her eyes determined.
Af: "Ons moet die top bereik," sê sy met 'n glimlag.
En: "We must reach the top," she said with a smile.
Af: Johan draai sy baadjie stywer en kyk bekommerd na die wolke wat bo hulle saamtrek.
