Kansas lost a beloved radio voice this past Sunday with the passing of Lucky Kidd, a legendary broadcaster who spent over 35 years delivering news and sports across the state. Known for his warm presence on airwaves from McPherson to Liberal, Kidd was the news and public affairs director at Ad Astra Radio and a familiar voice on stations in Hutchinson, Larned, Iola, and beyond. Passionate and proud of his journey, he once called his career “a fun ride” and vowed to keep broadcasting as long as his health allowed. A celebration of his life will be held Monday, July 27th, from 5 to 7 PM at Stockham Family Funeral Home in McPherson.
