After three generations with the Beck family, it’s being sold to the New Mexico News Group, the team behind the Santa Fe Reporter. New owner Pat Davis vows to keep it 100% New Mexico-owned, staff intact, and journalism strong—with help from nonprofit Citizen Media Group. Barbara Beck, who’s led the paper for years, will stay on to guide the transition. Printing and publishing kick off in August, preserving the paper’s legacy while ushering in a new chapter.
