Description

This Week in Tyranny: the accountability stories that got buried while the country watched Iran.

Trump’s Board of Peace wrote itself blanket legal immunity, can’t be prosecuted or sued for anything it does running Gaza, and gave itself the power to take Palestinian property “free of charge.” The board is Kushner, Witkoff, Wiles, and Rubio.

House Republicans are pushing the “Repealing Big Brother Overreach Act” to gut the Corporate Transparency Act and legalize anonymous shell companies, the same law Trump signed himself in 2021.

Postmaster General David Steiner told the Senate the Postal Service won’t deliver mail ballots in vote-by-mail states that refuse to hand over their absentee-voter lists. A federal judge separately struck down the administration’s voter database that ran 67 million Americans through it.

Texas voted to make Bible passages required reading for more than 5 million public school students.

An Oregon attorney turned Congress’s own Congressional Review Act theory back on it, threatening 70% of federal oil and gas leasing acreage.

Plus: a farmer arrested at a data center meeting, John Bolton’s guilty plea, and PECO’s first strike in 145 years.
