When Marjorie Guthrie founded Huntington’s Disease Society of America in 1967, her vow was to “do something” about the devastating disease. Huntington’s disease (HD) is a brain disease that is passed down in families from generation to generation. HD causes deterioration in a person’s physical, mental, and emotional abilities, usually during their prime working years, and currently has no cure. With us this morning to talk more about the HDSA and the work they are doing for people living with Huntington’s Disease is Wayne Galasek, Board Member of the Illinois Chapter of the organization.
