Clare MEP Says Health Service's Reliance On Paper Records "Beggars Belief"

A Clare MEP says it "beggars belief" that Ireland's health service is still largely reliant on paper records. A 2024 EU Commission study found that this county has the lowest level of access to electronic health records of any member state. The HSE One Health Record, which will be a single, integrated digital health system, is due to be operational in 2032. Addressing Health Minister Jennifer Carroll MacNeill in the European Parliament, Scariff Independent MEP Michael McNamara says we're lagging behind our neighbours.
