Clare Government TD Hopes Housing Minister Will Take "More Of A Role" In Clareabbey Wastewater Upgrade

Published 3 weeks, 2 days ago
Description
A Clare Government TD says he hopes the Housing Minister takes more of a role in the delivery of a vital Clare wastewater infrastructure project going forward. It comes as the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage has revealed it's progressing an interim upgrade project to address capacity constraints at the Clareabbey Wastewater Treatment Plant. It's also revealed the planned long-term upgrade of the facility won't be delivered until after 2029. Correspondence from the department to Ennis Municipal District this week said the minister has "no function in relation to operational matters" of Uisce Éireann, but Bodyke Fine Gael TD Joe Cooney believes he should take more interest.
