The MCMC (Amendment) Bill 2026 introduces new powers for the regulator to audit licensees and activities, disclose information and increase spending limits. How far does this go in improving the effectiveness of the MCMC? We discuss these reforms with Professor Dr Joanne Lim, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Nottingham Malaysia.
