In Direct Israel-Iran Clashes, an IDF soldier convicted of spying for Iranian forces throughout 2025 was sentenced to five years in prison by a military court, the IDF announced on Wednesday. The soldier was accused of passing information to Iranian agents in exchange for financial compensation, including videos of interceptions of Iranian missiles during the war. The IDF says the soldier received several Telegram messages offering money in exchange for videos and photographs of sensitive security information. Among the videos the soldier is accused of sending were two of rockets being intercepted, filmed during Operation Rising Lion, as well as several he found online showing missiles hitting Israel. The soldier eventually confessed that he had been in contact with a foreign agent and was arrested by security forces. During the trial, the military court noted that the soldier had not shared IDF information or any footage he had obtained in his military role. In addition to the five-year prison term, he received a 1,000 shekel fine and was demoted to the rank of Private.
