The Night the Diner Waitress Found the Letter Under the Register

Season 2 Episode 71 Published 2 days, 4 hours ago
Description

At the Kettle Creek Diner on Route 9, just outside the town of Melvern, the night shift waitress found a letter wedged under the cash register. It was dated 1972, addressed to a woman named Eleanor. The ink was fresh. The waitress's name was also Eleanor. Over the next hour, she learned that the letter was meant for her—written by someone who knew exactly when she would find it. The handwriting in the margins, the coffee cup left on the counter, the man who walked in at 2:17 AM and sat in booth four. Luna tells the story of what happens when a message meant for you arrives forty-seven years too late, and the price of opening it.
