Professor Richard Scolyer, one of Australia's greatest medical minds, is being honoured with a state funeral at the Sydney Opera House. The renowned melanoma researcher revolutionised cancer treatment through his work on immunotherapy drugs, publishing over 900 papers during his 35-year career. Diagnosed with a rare brain cancer in 2023, he applied his own treatment methods and his legacy continues through the Richard Scolyer Chair for brain cancer research at the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse.
