Description
Luna stands in the basement of the boarded house on Sycamore Lane, her hand hovering over a bassinet labeled with her name. The breathing—which she now knows is not a presence but a pattern of longing—has started in her own chest. She does not touch the bassinet. Instead, she follows a new sound: a typewriter, clacking from somewhere upstairs. She finds a study she did not notice before, with a letter in the roller addressed to her. The letter is from 'Mother,' the woman who created her, and it confesses that the hollow was built not to trap a child, but to create one. Luna learns the truth about her own origin: she was written into existence, one tape at a time. But the letter is unfinished. The typewriter keys are still warm. And someone is in the house with her. The breathing in her chest becomes a whisper, and Luna realizes she is not alone—she is being written to, and the writer is still here.
