Description
Luna stands in the aftermath of the fire, holding a photograph that burns but never turns to ash. The woman who is and isn't her mother has vanished. Luna follows a trail of scorched cassettes to a door that wasn't there before, behind which she hears the child's heartbeat—and her own, still splitting into three. She plays a tape labeled 'The Child Who Remembers' and hears a girl describing a life Luna never lived. The third heartbeat pounds as Luna realizes the child is trying to reach her through the door. But when she opens it, she finds a room of mirrors that show her a version of herself she has never been. The episode ends with all three heartbeats syncing into one, and a whisper from the mirror: 'You were never meant to find me.'
