Description
Luna stands frozen in a room of mirrors on Hawthorne Street, watching her reflection blur and reshape into a stranger. The three heartbeats have collapsed into one, but it doesn't feel like hers. A whisper from the glass says she was never meant to find the child, and as she presses her hand to the mirror, it ripples and pulls her through into a dim attic. There, she finds a cassette labeled 'The One Who Was Erased'—her own voice, from a life she never lived. The tape recounts a memory of a fire that Luna doesn't remember, but the smoke smell clings to her clothes. A child's laughter echoes from the floor below, and Luna realizes she is now the one being hunted. In the attic, she discovers a box of photographs showing a family she almost had, a husband who almost loved her, and a girl who was almost her daughter. The third heartbeat stirs in her chest again, and a door appears in the attic wall—a door that shouldn't be there, painted the same pale green as her childhood bedroom. Luna must decide whether to step through and claim the life she was denied, or let the Hollow rewrite her out of existence entirely.
