Summer Streets Expand This Year | New York City News
Description
New York City’s Summer Streets is back with extended hours this summer—starting July 25th and running through August 22nd, over 20 miles of car-free streets await across boroughs. Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island now open at 9 AM and close at 5 PM, while Manhattan sticks to 7 AM to 3 PM—thanks to community feedback. It’s your chance to reclaim the streets for walking, biking, dancing, or just hanging out with neighbors. Last year, 500,000+ people joined in. Plus, New York Road Runners are hosting beginner-friendly runs and walks, and each location will feature public art installations. Mark your calendar—this summer, from Long Island City to Staten Island, the city’s open roads are yours to explore.
