You didn’t like something very much at first, but gradually you began to appreciate or enjoy it.

Example:

Imagine you’ve just moved to a new city.

During the first few weeks, everything feels unfamiliar.

You miss your old neighborhood, your friends, and your routine.

But after a few months, you discover your favorite café, make new friends, and begin to feel at home.

Looking back, you might say:

“At first, I wasn’t sure about this city, but it really grew on me.”
