In this week’s episode we are joined once again by the Mighty Julian the Philosopher to continue our discussion about the world’s most important philosophers, the ideas they championed and how we can use their wisdom to untangle the madness that has come to define our modern world. In this episode we focus on the most important mind to ever grace Western civilization; Plato, with some emphasis placed upon his dialogues in the Symposium and various arguments made in The Republic. In the extended side of the show we begin to explore how Plato’s teachings intersected with Nietzsche and Aleister Crowley, stopping to read some poetry from a number of the authors we discuss and conclude with a view of the dark, science fiction dystopia that stretches out before us on our next leg of the journey to seek the good life.
