This year’s festival is especially meaningful as it marks two major milestones: the 250th birthday of the United States and the 15th annual Clinton 4th of July Festival.

What started as a community-focused event has grown into one of Clinton’s favorite traditions, bringing families together for a full day of activities—all completely free to attend. That accessibility is intentional. The mission remains simple: create a space where families can celebrate Independence Day together without the barrier of admission costs.

The day kicks off with the Red, White & Run 4-Miler at 8:00 a.m., starting at LumberKings Stadium and following a scenic route along the Mississippi River and Discovery Trail. Whether you are running, walking, or bringing a stroller or dog along, it is a welcoming way to begin the holiday.

Morning activities continue with a grass volleyball tournament and wiffle ball at 9:00 a.m., followed by a bags tournament at 10:30 a.m. Then at 1:00 p.m., one of Clinton’s most anticipated traditions takes center stage—the parade. Featuring local businesses, organizations, classic cars, emergency vehicles, youth groups, and performers, the parade remains a highlight of the day and is still open for entries.

The festival officially opens at 2:00 p.m., transforming the riverfront into a hub of family-friendly activity. Attendees can enjoy bounce houses, carnival games, a petting zoo, barrel train rides, pedal tractors, food trucks, and live music. Pocket Constitutions will also be available while supplies last, adding a thoughtful patriotic touch to the celebration.

Entertainment continues throughout the afternoon, beginning with the National Anthem performed by Alice Lind, followed by live music from Danny’s Book Club from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Wrestling will take place from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., adding another layer of excitement to the lineup.

The celebration carries into the evening with a LumberKings baseball game, offering another opportunity for the community to gather before the day concludes with fireworks along the Mississippi River. Widely regarded as one of the best fireworks displays in eastern Iowa, it provides a memorable ending to a full day of celebration.
