The investigation into the passing of Nolan Xavier Wells continues to raise new questions.

One major development involves Dr. Stacy Turner, the Chief Medical Examiner in Mississippi, who is overseeing Nolan’s autopsy. Independent media outlets have been examining Dr. Turner’s past work and pointing to previous cases they believe deserve additional scrutiny, including one involving a Black man whose manner of passing was ultimately ruled “undetermined.” Those past cases are now being discussed by some as they wait for answers in Nolan’s case.

Attorney Ben Crump has also revealed that Nolan’s parents discovered deleted messages on Nolan’s phone. That revelation has fueled even more questions about whether potential evidence may have been removed and whether investigators will be able to recover those deleted communications.

At the same time, online speculation continues to grow after Ben Crump confirmed that Nolan’s parents have still not been allowed to view his body. Some people online have suggested theories about what that could mean, including speculation about the condition of Nolan’s body and why identification reportedly relied on dental records. At this time, those theories remain unverified, and authorities have not said they support them. Law enforcement has continued to state that they have found no evidence of foul play.

As this investigation moves forward, many people are waiting for the medical examiner’s findings, the results of the autopsy, and additional answers that could clarify exactly what happened to Nolan Xavier Wells.
