Kilkee War Of Independence Memorial Ceremony Marking 105th Anniversary
Published 1 month ago
Description
This Saturday marks the 105th anniversary of the Truce that brought the War of Independence to an end in July 1921.
To commemorate the occasion, the Kilkee War of Independence Committee is holding a ceremony at the town's War of Independence monument, where the names of 250 local men and women who played a role in the struggle for independence are inscribed.
Chairperson Lily Marrinan joined Alan Morrissey to tell us more about the event and why it's important to remember those who served their community and country.
