Back to EpisodesEP 705. A Fresh Perspective: Pioneering Duck Research in Argentina
Description
Talk about a fresh perspective! Doug Osborne (Osborne Lab, Snowden Waterfowl Center of Excellence, University Arkansas Monticello) and I spent a week together not only hunting ducks but, importantly, laying groundwork for first-ever duck banding and GPS studies in Argentina. Why's it needed there, what's really known about Argentina ducks, their movements and behaviors? How's the habitat compare to North America--and what might be learned of benefit to us? What are the challenges and cultural barriers, and how's the North American Model look from south of the equator? Plenty interesting stuff to think about.
