Founded by eccentric billionaire Peter Thiel, amongst others, the firm has more than £600 million in defence and NHS contracts in the UK; but they're locked in a major row with London Mayor Sadiq Khan over plans for their work for the Metropolitan Police. And PM in waiting Andy Burnham is under huge pressure from Labour MPs who want them booted out of the health service for good, even as the medical professionals swear by it to drive down waiting lists. Could the noisy critics actually win this debate, or is it as Palantir says, just “scaremongering”?
