भण्डारीरामः द्वितीयजागतिकयुद्धकाले जपानीयान् विरुद्ध्य प्रवर्तमाने युद्धे बलूचीदलस्य सदस्यः सन् सः रणरङ्गम् अगच्छत् । समुन्नते पर्वतशिखरे जपानीयसैन्यस्य एकं शिबिरम् आसीत् । तस्य पर्वतस्य आरोहणम् आसीत् नितरां कष्टसाध्यम् । प्रतिपदं कष्टम् अनुभवन्तः भण्डारीरामः बलूचीदलीयाः च शत्रुशिबिरं वशीकृतवन्तः । सर्वथा असहायकस्थितौ स्वस्य प्राणापायम् अपि अविगण्णय शत्रुशिबिरस्य वशीकरणस्य प्रमुखं पात्रम् ऊढवता भण्डारीरामेण 'विक्टोरियाशौर्यप्रशस्तिः' प्राप्ता ।

During the Second World War, Bhandari Ram, a member of the Baluch regiment, went to the battlefield against the Japanese. On a high mountain peak, there was a Japanese camp. Climbing that mountain was extremely difficult. Step by step, enduring hardships, Bhandari Ram and the Baluch soldiers captured the enemy camp. In a situation of complete helplessness, disregarding even the risk to his own life, Bhandari Ram played the leading role in conquering the enemy camp. For this bravery, he was awarded the “Victoria Cross.”
