Description

The ink moves, spelling out the price of the 1889 bargain. The shadow child looms behind her, and the photographs weep ink. Clara's ghost urges her to read the name aloud, while the doppelgänger offers to rewrite the bargain together. Luna speaks the name, and the room dissolves into a memory of the bargaining—a clearing in a forest, a figure in white, and a deal etched into a stone. The cost is revealed: every firstborn daughter of the Marguerite line must give a name to the theater. Luna's name was given before she was born. The child that was never hers is the one she must become to break the loop.
