Farage’s Clacton by-election gamble faltered after Labour, the Conservatives and others refused to contest what they called a stunt. He denies wrongdoing over undeclared donations, including £5 million from Christopher Harborne and alleged support from George Cottrell. Meanwhile, Reform’s Deputy Leader Richard Tice accused the National Crime Agency of leaking confidential bank records to smear the party.
