Anand Varma is a National Geographic Explorer and photographer based in Berkeley, California. He has devoted years of his life to developing innovative and creative techniques to create intimate, dramatic and surprising images of nature most people never see. He earned a degree in integrative biology from University of California and he's become a photographic regular contributor to National Geographic.

Anand's ultimate goal is to spark a sense of wonder about our natural world. He highlights creatures whose incredible details typically go unseen, and discovers new stories behind the science along the way.
