Trump, Erdogan Meet as NATO Summit Begins; Farage Quits UK Parliament, Vows to Stand in By-election

U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Ankara on Tuesday for a summit with NATO leaders. The U.S. president announced that Washington would lift U.S. sanctions on Turkey that were imposed in 2020 over Ankara's purchase of the Russian S-400 air defense system, while expressing a willingness to sell the fellow NATO ally F-35 fighter jets.
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage said on Tuesday he would quit as a member of the UK Parliament to trigger a by-election in his parliamentary seat, which he says he will stand in.
Farage is under investigation by the standards watchdog over whether he should have declared a 5 million pound ($6.7 million) donation from a cryptocurrency billionaire he received before entering parliament.
His spokesperson said, "No parliamentary rules have been broken." Farage's Reform UK party has led in almost every opinion poll in the UK for more than a year.
