In our culture today, the unborn, disabled, elderly, or terminally ill are increasingly seen as burdens we must bear. For example, one article commenting on anti-aging research described people living to older ages as creating a “‘care home world’ full of decrepit people.”

But this isn’t how the Bible views people! We are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God. We have value and purpose because we’re made in God’s image, not because of our quality of life or what we contribute to society.

God sent his Son to give his life for us, that we might receive salvation. That’s how much value we have in God’s eyes!
