Sony has announced that they are discontinuing the printing of video game discs within the next few years. You will not just own nothing and be happy, you will own nothing and play games. Besides the lack of physical ownership, the real issue is digital vulnerability, removal of digital content already purchased, price discrimination, and the elimination of classical gaming communities. That, and also the availability of disc drives and discs at premium prices suddenly. Also, if you thought some people were fooled by Secret Space Program stories inspired by movies and games, wait until VR and AR become far more mainstream.
