The time is now 8:01 PM in New York, I'm Noa Levi and this is the latest Israel Today: Ongoing War Report.

In Regional Impacts, Dozens feared dead and seriously injured as a result of a Russian ballistic missile impact tonight on a multi-story apartment building in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv. Smoke rising from the site was observed, and multiple missiles were launched against Kyiv with Patriot batteries intercepting a number of them. Air raid alerts are beginning to spread across Ukraine as Russia launches yet another large-scale drone and missile attack, primarily targeting Kyiv. The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces says NATO fighter and support aircraft have been scrambled while ground-based air defense systems and radar reconnaissance have been raised to maximum readiness throughout Poland due to ongoing Russian long-range aviation activity against Ukraine. Additional launches from Bryansk and Kursk toward Kyiv were reported.

In the Conflict with Iran and its Regional Proxies, Muhammad Najib Ashour, a Nukhba platoon commander in Hamas’ military wing, and Tamer Saeed Abu Nakhal, a cell commander in Hamas’ military wing, were eliminated; the terrorists were involved in advancing attacks against IDF troops. IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir conducted a field tour and an operational assessment at the Beaufort Castle area in southern Lebanon, including a major Hezbollah tunnel system beneath the ridge. Zamir said the strategic area is saturated with Hezbollah infrastructure built over decades with Iranian support to threaten northern Israel. He stated that the IDF now controls both the high ground and the underground tunnel network, called on the Lebanese army to remove Hezbollah from areas under its control in accordance with the ceasefire agreement, and warned that Israel is prepared to launch a rapid offensive if the ceasefire is violated.

The couple were abducted from Kibbutz Nir Oz during the October 7 massacre; Cohen was held for 55 days before her release in November 2023, while Troufanov was held for 498 days and released as part of phase one of a mediated ceasefire/hostage release deal in February 2025.

The report noted that Colonna described much of UNRWA’s educational materials as a grave violation of neutrality and ordered the agency to stop using such material, along with 49 other recommendations. IMPACT-se’s analysis also found that UNRWA lowered thresholds for considering such issues in its materials and funding appeals. Separately, a federal complaint filed by the Louis D. Brandeis Center alleges that Boston Medical Center retaliated against a Jewish Israeli intern after she reported antisemitic material at work, detailing ostracism, isolation from professional interactions, and a negative evaluation. The complaint describes posters with an
